FTI professionals serve as court-appointed trustees, accountants to the trustee, and examiners in bankruptcy cases. Our advisors have an extensive, successful restructuring track record and bring the competency and credibility necessary to effectuate the turnaround of large and middle market companies. Our relationships and proven results are often the catalyst to obtaining the necessary support of key interested third parties.
As trustee, FTI manages all post-petition financial matters. This includes marshaling the debtor's assets; investigating the activities of the debtor; developing reorganization or liquidation plans; investing available cash; minimizing liabilities; selling assets and winding down affairs; and pursuing legal actions to maximize creditor recoveries. FTI also retains professionals; reviews, resolves and pays claims for post-petition expenses; maintains books and records; and prepares tax returns and required reports.
As court-appointed examiner, FTI also reports to the court on a variety of issues, including business viability, related party transactions, fraudulent transfers, management capability, and the need for an appointment of a trustee.
