André Manitiu has more than 20 years of experience spanning the entire business life cycle, including M&A financial advisory, pre-merger due diligence, developing financial strategies for corporate turnarounds, restructurings, operational improvements, business assessments, business plans development, budgeting and post-merger integration.
Mr. Manitiu has broad exposure across the healthcare industry within life sciences, providers, payors and healthcare services companies, including not-for-profit, private, public and private equity-owned companies. He has led varied types of projects, driving value across organizations with performance improvement through corporate strategy, operational assessments, benchmarking, budgeting, financial modeling and projections. In transaction support, Mr. Manitiu advised more than $13 billion in M&A and financing transactions, including all facets of M&A from ideation through execution, involving pre-merger support, due diligence, valuation, pro forma financials, synergy analysis, post-merger integration and cost take out. His experience in corporate turnarounds and restructurings includes unsecured creditors’ committee (“UCC”) advisory, debtor advisory and 363 Sale.
Mr. Manitiu’s representative work involves providing operational and financial advisory to various payors and providers including commercial, Medicaid and Medicare Advantage plans, hospitals and health systems, ortho, dental, ophthalmology and fertility providers. In restructuring, Mr. Manitiu has provided advisory to dental support organizations (“DSOs”), healthcare real estate investment trusts (“REITs”), skilled nursing facilities (“SNF”), assisted living facilities (“ALF”) and Life Sciences companies. He has supplied performance improvement advisory to medical benefit management companies, DSOs, fertility clinics and hospital and health systems. He has provided pre-and post-merger transaction support to payors, behavioral health providers, revenue cycle management (“RCM”), DSOs, fertility clinic providers and ophthalmology providers.
Previously, Mr. Manitiu served as Senior Vice President of Performance Management at Somatus (the Series-E portfolio company of Deerfield, Fidelity and Wellington), 12 years at Alvarez and Marsal and in Global Healthcare Investment Banking at UBS and Bank of America in New York.
Mr. Manitiu earned a B.Sc. in Biology and Psychology from Tufts University, where he wrote a Senior Honors Thesis, summa cum laude, in psychopharmacology. He also earned an M.B.A. from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business. He holds Series 7 and 63 registered representative FINRA licenses. His scientific publications include Neuroendocrinology, Society for Neuroscience Abstracts, Neuron and the Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics.
