Andrew Preston has served as an expert and trusted advisor to clients navigating complex disputes and government investigations for over 15 years. He brings a breadth of experience in accounting, fraud, asset misappropriation, damages quantum, and business valuation derived from engagements across the globe.
Andrew routinely assists clients with all phases of investigations by the U.S. Securities Exchange Commission. He has engaged with SEC staff by presenting the results of internal investigations and has provided specific input into the Wells process. He has investigated issues involving revenue recognition, accounting for contingent liabilities, potential asset misappropriation, and asset valuation both in response to SEC inquiries and to independent internal management investigations. Andrew has also consulted on accounting, fraud, and damages issues on securities litigation, civil litigation, and white-collar criminal defense matters before U.S. Federal and state courts.
With deep experience in international disputes, Andrew has served as a testifying expert quantifying lost profits and damages on matters in international arbitration. He has consulted on nearly 40 international arbitrations, acting for both claimants and respondents, in a variety of forums. His experience spans a combination of investor-state and commercial matters in Latin America, North America, Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
Andrew’s clients include Fortune 50 corporations, privately held startups, high net worth individuals, private investment funds, and sovereign governments. He has advised clients across a wide range of industries including manufacturing, retail and consumer products, infrastructure, renewable and conventional energy generation, telecommunications, oil and natural gas, fintech, and private equity.
Andrew is a Certified Public Accountant in the District of Columbia, a Certified Fraud Examiner, and holds an M.S. degree in accountancy and a B.S. degree in analytical finance from Wake Forest University.
