Howie Lawn is a member of the Office of the CFO Solutions practice and specializes in finance function strategy and finance transformation services. Mr. Lawn is a highly accomplished finance transformation leader with a proven track record of driving successful finance transformation initiatives. With more than 15 years of experience, Mr. Lawn possesses a comprehensive understanding of finance processes, financial systems and technology. Mr. Lawn is recognized for his finance process design and optimization expertise, driving organizational efficiency and delivering strategic financial solutions.
Throughout his career, Mr. Lawn has demonstrated his ability to optimize finance operations, enhance efficiencies and deliver tangible results. He has successfully led numerous finance transformation initiatives for multinational and national organizations across various industries, including insurance (health, life and property and casualty, manufacturing, media and entertainment and retail and consumer products. His proven capacity to identify areas for improvement, design innovative solutions and implement streamlined processes consistently result in enhanced operational performance and cost savings.
With a deep understanding of financial systems and business processes, Mr. Lawn has also played a pivotal role in driving digital transformation within finance departments. He has successfully implemented cutting-edge technologies and automation tools to optimize finance workflows, improve accuracy and accelerate decision-making.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Lawn was a consultant for the Insurance Operations practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Before that, Mr. Lawn was an Internal Audit Consultant at KPMG.
Mr. Lawn holds a B.S. in Accounting from Purdue University and an M.S. in Accounting from the University of Connecticut.
Relevant Experience:
- Consulting for a $1 billion electronic manufacturing company, Mr. Lawn performed an optimizing assessment to centralize accounts payable, accounts receivable and general accounting activities from multiple finance and accounting groups. His assessment involved future state operating model and organization structure design, future state processes design and developing a business case to implement a new Enterprise Resource Planning (“ERP”).
- Consulting for a $1B textile company, Mr. Lawn performed an assessment to integrate two Finance and Accounting groups, including designing the future state operating model and detail organizational structure, process improvement opportunities (over-the-counter, peer-to-peer and month-end close) and identifying synergy savings.
- Consulting for a $250 million marketing and advertising company, Mr. Lawn led an assessment to optimize and streamline the order-to-cash function by eliminating bottlenecks and reducing manual efforts, including design and implementation of the future state design.
- Consulting for a $750 million electronic manufacturing company, Mr. Lawn developed and established a project management office (“PMO”) to support and oversee a large-scale implementation of SAP S4/Hana and Central Finance, including communication cadence, templates and tools and change management strategy. Mr. Lawn also supported gathering business requirements to optimize company management and financial reporting within SAP S4/Hana and Central Finance systems.
