About Liam
Liam Nolan has more than 15 years of experience providing restructuring, turnaround and financial solutions to a wide range of stakeholders in stressed and distressed situations across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Liam specializes in leading management teams and companies through transformation and restructuring situations with a particular focus on liquidity and cash management, independent business reviews, business plan preparation, strategic options development and transaction implementation.
Liam has completed more than 50 assignments for clients in the UK, Europe and the Asia Pacific region across a broad spectrum of industries, including consumer services, travel, construction, oil and gas, manufacturing, distribution, retail and fast-moving consumer goods (“FMCG”). Liam takes a hands-on, highly proactive approach to his work with a diverse range of stakeholders, including corporate management teams, investment banks, lenders, legal advisors, shareholders and private equity.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Liam worked in the Restructuring & Deals team at PwC and has also held interim transformation and management roles assisting FTSE100 and other large organisations within the UK.
Liam recently spent 18 months with the European senior management team of a listed global vehicle rental business to navigate the COVID-19 crisis, and support the successful renegotiation and restructuring of the European financing facilities. Subsequently, Liam supported a Norwegian shipping business with liquidity management, as well as transaction planning and implementation for a $3.5 billion recap via Chapter 11.
Liam is a Chartered Accountant and has been admitted as a Solicitor to the High Court of New Zealand. Liam holds degrees in Law and Commerce from the University of Auckland.
