Shannon Walker leads FTI Consulting’s People & Transformation practice in Australia. Shannon specialises in communicating with employees, the media and other stakeholders about workplace issues, including change and transformation, wage underpayments, restructurings, administrations and employee litigation. With a history in the union movement and as a certified change management practitioner, he provides strategic advice to clients facing contentious employment issues.
Shannon has more than 20 years experience in political and activist campaigning, industrial relations communications and membership organisations. He has held media advisor roles for senior Federal Labor politicians, including the Minister for Workplace Relations, the Minister for Finance and the Assistant Treasurer and Minister for Superannuation and Financial Services in the Australian Government.
Shannon has a long history of working with membership and activist organisations, including unions and community groups, to campaign and change public policy.
Before joining FTI Consulting, Shannon led the industry association for brands, wholesalers and retailers in the sporting goods and active lifestyle sector in Australia, where he campaigned on issues of importance to the sector and grew both membership and revenue.
With contacts and experience in IT, financial services, retail, superannuation, transport, government, and the community, preventative health and union movements, Shannon brings a broad range of expertise to FTI Consulting clients.
