Jeff Bockus is a Managing Director in FTI Consulting’s Data & Analytics practice and is based in Boston. An experienced hire with many years in the financial services industry, Mr. Bockus has expertise in portfolio accounting and custodial services. In his former position, he was responsible for valuation of a variety of porfolios, giving him detailed knowledge of a range of fixed income and derivative investment vehicles, specifically asset-backed securities (ABS and MBS), corporate bonds, currency FX, residual interest bonds, CDS/IRS Swaps, and repurchase agreements.
Mr. Bockus has a working expertise of ’40 Act Mutual Funds and Private Equity Partnerships. While working closely with Financial Reporting teams, Mr. Bockus assisted in the production and re-statements of yearly financial statements for these relationships. Mr. Bockus has been responsible for the approval of investor-level P&L allocations, and has ensured compliance with Limited Partnership Agreements and Private Placement Memorandums.
Since joining FTI Consulting Mr. Bockus has been contributed to a variety of projects, most prominently Project Ivory in New York and recently the State Street engagement in Boston. On Project Ivory he conducted a detailed review of both accounting and trading systems documentation and parsed and cataloged relevant system tapes.
For much of 2010, Mr. Bockus had a key role on the State Street Bank Securies Lending analysis. Mr. Bockus brought his deep industry expertise in debt security characterics and financial accounting to the project, performing data-intensive reconciliations critical to the project’s client reports and deliverables. He was responsible for mastering complex the fund-of-fund relationships within the reinvestment program, and developed reconciling balance schedules that brought to light previously undiscovered errors in the client’s management reports. As a senior consultant on the engagement, Mr Bockus took a lead in presenting several highly technical but centrally important analyses on conference calls with client and counsel.
Mr. Bockus has a mastery of Excel, is proficient in Access and Oracle, and can fluently write SQL procedures for analytical purposes.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Bockus was an Officer for State Street Bank and Trust in the Alternative Investment Solutions division. At State Street, Mr. Bockus was the project leader for the conversion of legacy custody and accounting platforms for a multi-billion dollar private equity client. Over 10 months, his team successfully migrated the client's GL and portfolio to the firm’s current data and financial applications which required the management and reconciliation of large security holdings and transactional data sets. Mr. Bockus received the Private Equity Fund Services Management Award for his leadership on and execution of this project.
Mr. Bockus graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2006, earning his B.S. in Business Administration, majoring in Finance.
