Sean Crees

Sean Crees is an experienced senior executive and economist with more than 25 years’ experience working across a range of industries, including water, electricity and gas. He is an expert in economic analysis, governance frameworks, regulatory design and implementation, performance monitoring and evaluation, stakeholder engagement and report writing across a broad range of issues and sectors.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Sean was the Executive Director, Partnerships and Sector Performance in the Victorian Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning – responsible for leading a high performing team that built and maintained strong relationships within Victoria’s water and catchment sectors in the development and implementation of policies and programs.

Sean has extensive experience in economic regulation, having held several senior roles at the Victorian Essential Services Commission (ESC). Sean was responsible for leading the water team at the ESC oversee three price reviews in the urban and rural water sectors. He also led the pricing and financial modelling teams in price reviews for electricity and gas industries.

Sean formerly held the position of General Manager Corporate Services at City West Water. He was responsible for the regulatory function and led the preparation of their 2013 pricing submission to the ESC. Sean was also responsible for leading the finance team, providing financial analysis and reporting to the executive team and Board.
