About Ayse
Ayse Duran is a Managing Director on FTI Consulting’s Business Transformation team. Ayse has more than 15 years of experience in strategy, large-scale transformations and data and analytics. She has worked in a broad range of industries across the United States, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, primarily in financial services, industrials, healthcare and pharma.
Ayse has extensive experience in strategy and has advised board members and the C-suite in identifying new business opportunities, redefining new business models and revising go-to-market and international expansion strategies to ultimately drive shareholder value and performance improvement. She helps business leaders in definition and execution of strategy, often as part of large-scale, multidisciplined transformations.
Ayse also serves as the Head of People Operations for the Corporate Finance practice in the Benelux and is responsible for people topics, such as recruiting and staffing. She also leads the FTI Women’s Initiative (“FTI WIN”) efforts locally.
Prior to FTI Consulting, Ayse held various positions at ING, Philips, Boston Consulting Group (“BCG”) and Bank of America. In these roles, she was a founding member of various new ventures, including the “Kickstart AI” initiative to promote the development and use of artificial intelligence in the Netherlands and BCG’s Center for Macroeconomics in New York.
Relevant Experience:
- Led the global analytics strategy and the craftsmanship of analytics translation at a global bank; responsible for strategy definition and implementation, operating model, use case portfolio management, organization and partnerships in analytics
- Supported a European real estate bank in setting up a “bad bank” as part of its restructuring efforts; developed the servicing framework between the core and bad bank, including drafting and pricing service level agreements, and prepared the bank’s business plan for communication with the European Union
- Set up and led the project management office, change management and performance tracking at an international steel producer as part of a five-year transformation and EBITDA improvement program; managed value creation across multiple production hubs in Europe and more than 15 business lines and functions
- Defined the commercial strategy for the dry bulk division (e.g., coal, steel, metals, minerals, agriculture) of a Dutch port terminal operator
- Developed the international growth strategy of a European pharma company and defined the roadmap, including preparation of business plan and product portfolio per country
