Tim Battrick is in the Economic and Financial Consulting segment and specialises in the valuation of businesses and intellectual property and in the quantification of damages in commercial disputes. Tim has been appointed as an expert witness in both litigation and arbitration matters, and has testified before the High Court of England and Wales, as well as in London Court of International Arbitration (“LCIA”), International Chamber of Commerce (“ICC”) and International Centre for Dispute Resolution (“ICDR”) arbitrations.
Matters on which Tim has been instructed as an expert include the assessment of lost profits following an alleged breach of contract, the valuation of shares in a claim for unfair prejudice by a minority shareholder and the assessment of lost profits due to an alleged misuse of confidential information. Tim also helps clients with valuation issues outside of litigation and arbitration and has advised the buyers and sellers of shareholdings, stakeholders in financial restructurings, companies requiring valuations for financial reporting and parties seeking to license intellectual property rights.
Prior to FTI Consulting, Tim worked at LECG. He is a Chartered Accountant and a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, and holds a first-class honours degree in mathematics from Cambridge University. Tim is ranked as a thought leader in the Who’s Who Legal guide to experts in commercial litigation, a future leader in the guide to expert witnesses in arbitration and recommended in the guide to experts in intellectual property.
