Peter DeCaro

Peter DeCaro is a Managing Director at FTI Consulting and is based in New York. He is a member of the Office of the CFO Solutions practice within the Corporate Finance & Restructuring segment.

Mr. DeCaro has advised companies on finance transformation initiatives, operational improvements, financial planning and analysis (“FP&A”), merger integration and process improvements. His clients have included public and private companies in a number of industries, including airline, travel and leisure, real estate, government contracting, manufacturing and retail.

Mr. DeCaro’s experience includes development and assessment of business plans, complex financial models, FP&A processes, financing transactions, financial restructuring, operational analyses, merger due diligence analyses and process improvement initiatives. In addition, Mr. DeCaro has acted as a finance transformation leader and project manager on several engagements and has provided advisory services regarding financing transactions, negotiations with lenders, management incentive programs, executive compensation plans and liquidity initiatives.

Mr. DeCaro has been involved with many large engagements, including US Airways, Kmart, Northwest Airlines, Dana, Aloha Airlines, LandSource Communities Development, Centro Properties Group, CIT Group, a manufacturing company with more than $15 billion in assets, a large U.S. based car rental company and a large U.S. government contractor.

Mr. DeCaro joined FTI Consulting with its acquisition of PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Business Recovery Services practice (“BRS”), where he began his career.

Mr. DeCaro holds a B.S. in Finance and History from Boston College. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst, a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor and a Certified Turnaround Professional. Mr. DeCaro is also a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts, Association for Finance Professionals and the Association of Insolvency & Restructuring Advisors.
