Quincy Jones has over 23 years of experience in the chemical and petroleum refining industries. In addition to experience in litigation and arbitration expert work, which includes all forms of contract disputes and associated damages analysis, he has experience in project evaluation, merger and acquisition support, technoeconomic evaluations, competitor appraisals, industry analysis, technology management, intellectual property and strategic planning. He has provided written and oral expert testimony and managed many commercial arbitration and litigation engagements.
Mr. Jones has managed many consulting projects for major firms in the chemical industry which have included large scale feasibility projects, bankruptcy restructuring, construction overruns, due diligence, valuation, failed merger analysis and strategic assessments. He has worked for an EPC firm as a process engineer designing chemical plants before entering the consulting business.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Jones served as a managing consultant at LECG’s Petroleum & Chemicals Practice where he used his commercial and technical expertise to provide consulting in the areas of valuation, arbitration, litigation support and business strategy. Prior to that, he was a consultant at Chemical Market Associates Inc. (now IHS), a leading source of market and business advisory services for the chemical industry covering ethylene, styrene, benzene, propylene etc. markets.
Before CMAI, Mr. Jones served as process engineer for Lummus Technology (formerly CB&I Lummus Technology, now McDermott Lummus) and Chevron Lummus Global, leading providers of process technology (propane dehydrogenation, ethylene cracking, carbon dioxide removal, ethylbenzene, styrene, hydrocracking etc.), project management, engineering, procurement and construction services to the refining and petrochemical industry. Quincy began his career as a refinery process engineer for Mobil Oil in 1997.
Mr. Jones graduated from The Johns Hopkins University where he received a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering. He also has experience in refining and chemical technology with three process patents relevant to the chemical industry. Mr. Jones received his M.B.A. in Finance from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey (Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honors).
