Les entreprises du CAC40 gagnent en influence digitale lorsqu'elles mobilisent leurs dirigeants au-delà de leur seul CEO
Paris, le 19 mars 2024 – FTI Consulting (NYSE: FCN), dévoile ce jour la troisième édition de son étude annuelle « Leading from the Front » qui étudie l’influence digital des dirigeants des plus grands groupes français et européens. L’étude inclue notamment le « Digital Impact Score » de FTI Consulting, son indice propriétaire, qui mesure l'impact digital des dirigeants sur LinkedIn en attribuant à chacun une note sur 100. La note prend en compte la présence digitale du dirigeant, son reach et les interactions qu’il génère avec son audience. Pour cette édition 2023, FTI Consulting a collecté puis analysé l’ensemble des activités sur LinkedIn de près de 500 membres de comités exécutifs du CAC40 soit près de 5000 publications.
L’union fait la force : les sociétés dont 5 membres au moins du COMEX sont actifs génèrent 20% d’engagement en plus par post.
Le DIS étudie d’abord les performances individuelles au sein des équipes dirigeantes. En 2023, il apparait que les 10 premiers dirigeants affichant le score le plus élevé au sein du CAC 40 sont tous des CEO (voir tableau ci-dessous).
Le CEO demeure donc la source principale de visibilité et d’engagement pour son entreprise sur LinkedIn. En deux ans, le nombre de CEO du CAC40 présents sur le réseau social a d’ailleurs augmenté de 10% et l’engagement moyen sur leurs posts a augmenté de 43% par rapport 2022.
Le DIS étudie ensuite la performance collective des équipes dirigeantes des entreprises du CAC 40. Il ressort pour l’édition 2023 de l’étude que les meilleurs scores sont obtenus par les groupes qui affichent au moins 5 membres du COMEX actifs sur LinkedIn, en plus du CEO.
L’étude établit que ce groupe de sociétés dont 5 membres au moins du COMEX sont actifs, obtient un score DIS 55% supérieur à celui des sociétés dont seulement 1 à 4 membres sont actifs. Ces sociétés génèrent également 20% d’engagement en plus par post.
Mieux encore, l’engagement généré sur LinkedIn par des CEO accompagnés de cinq membres ou plus du COMEX actifs, est trois fois supérieur à celui des sociétés ou moins de 5 membres du COMEX sont actifs.
Dans cette édition 2032 du DIS, les 10 COMEX bénéficiant du meilleur score disposent d’au moins 10 membres actifs sur le réseau social.

Dans ce contexte, il devient évident que la clé pour obtenir le plus d'engagement et de visibilité doit passer par des stratégies de communication sur mesure et étendues à l’ensemble des dirigeants de l’entreprise.”
Les dirigeants français obtiennent de meilleurs scores que leurs homologues britanniques
Le score DIS moyen des 10 dirigeants les plus influents en France est de 90 points, contre 80 pour ceux au Royaume-Uni.
Cet écart est encore plus accentué au niveau des COMEX, ceux du CAC40 obtenant des scores DIS presque deux fois supérieurs à ceux des COMEX britanniques.
De tels écarts s’expliquent notamment par la proportion plus importante de CEO du CAC 40 actifs sur LinkedIn (65%) comparé à ceux du FTSE 100 (55%).
Les dirigeants britanniques ont un profil de « leader digital » plus diversifié que les français. Si le top 10 français est composé uniquement de CEO, un tiers des dirigeants britanniques les plus performants sont membres du COMEX mais pas CEO.
LinkedIn demeure un outil majeur pour la réputation des dirigeants d’entreprises
L’étude FTI Consulting révélait déjà l’an passé que 92% des dirigeants interrogés déclaraient faire plus confiance à une entreprise dont les cadres dirigeants étaient actifs sur LinkedIn. Par ailleurs, cette année l’étude dévoile que le compte des dirigeants bénéfice d’un taux d’engagement 36% plus élevés que le compte « corporate ».
L’an passé également, 82% des dirigeants ont déclaré être convaincus des bénéfices d’un usage actif de LinkedIn sur leur réputation. Toutefois, si aujourd’hui, 91% des dirigeants français ont un compte sur le réseau social, seuls 74% d’entre eux sont réellement actifs.
Guillaume Granier, Senior Managing Director chez FTI Consulting et Head Strategic Communications France, déclare : « Notre étude DIS 2023 confirme la nécessaire implication du CEO et des membres des Comités Exécutifs pour obtenir un impact digital significatif, et au-delà atteindre les objectifs de communication fixés. Au-delà de l’effet volume indispensable pour obtenir cet impact, la nature et la diversité des publications, leur régularité, la définition de territoires d’expression et de tonalités propres à chaque dirigeant, tout comme les interactions digitales entre eux, constituent les éléments à assembler pour mettre en œuvre des stratégies digitales gagnantes et adaptées à chaque situation ».
Méthodologie
Dates de l'analyse : 1er février 2023 - 31 juillet 2023 (6 mois)
Public ciblé : Membres du Comité Exécutif (COMEX) du CAC 40 en poste pendant la période de février à juillet 2023
Collecte de données : En ligne, en utilisant une analyse manuelle pour comprendre la présence numérique existante des membres de l'ExCo à travers les entreprises du CAC 40. Sur les 494 personnes identifiées, la majorité possédait un compte LinkedIn (n=448) et 74% d'entre eux étaient actifs (n=331). Dans notre recherche nous avons analysé 4 950 publications publiées par les membres actifs des COMEX identifiés, tout en réalisant une analyse des données disponibles publiquement de tout membre qui possédait un compte LinkedIn afin d'évaluer l'impact de leur présence.
