Ben Herskowitz is a Senior Managing Director at FTI Consulting, a member of the firm’s Global ESG and Sustainability Advisory Solutions practice and the ESG Executive Steering Committee and a leader of the firm’s Global ESG Regulatory Working Group.
Mr. Herskowitz leads clients through complex sustainability initiatives, including setting relevant targets, improving data tracking capabilities to enhance go-forward reporting and navigating the interoperability of various standards, competitive pressures and global regulatory mandates. Mr. Herskowitz is an industry thought leader, frequent panelist and speaker at industry events and was named “Top ESG Consultant in 2024” by ALM | Consultant Magazine.
Mr. Herskowitz has extensive experience providing counsel to pre-IPO and public company management teams seeking to develop or enhance their existing ESG and sustainability strategy and associated execution efforts. His experience includes crafting complex sustainability strategies with various objectives in mind, including meeting expectations of the investment community as it relates to reporting and regulatory preparedness and compliance. Most recently, Mr. Herskowitz educated the Boards of two Fortune 500 companies on regulatory and landscape trends ahead of beginning preparedness efforts for U.S. and EU sustainability regulations.
Prior to FTI Consulting, Mr. Herskowitz was in corporate development for a PE-backed startup within renewable energy, focused on solar PV assets, now owned by Fifth Third Bank. In this role, Mr. Herskowitz aided in a more than $200 million series-A fundraising, helped develop corporate messaging and helped design and implement a post-merger companywide scalability plan. Mr. Herskowitz began his career in investment banking with BB&T’s Windsor Group and then continued on at Raymond James within aerospace, defense and government contracting sell-side M&A. Mr. Herskowitz holds a B.S. in finance from Wake Forest University, where he graduated cum laude, and is certified by the International Financial Reporting Standards’ (“IFRS’”) Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (“SASB”).
